I got a very early start today. I woke up nice and early because my uncle was over doing a bit of work on my money pit house. This is becoming a very productive and educational tour. Here’s today’s lowdown:
I finished spinning the blue fiber late last night and plied it this morning. I have definitely learned why they say to let the single “rest” for a few days. Lesson learned, won’t rush greatness the next time. After a good soak and no thanks to the weather, the finished yarn is drying in the guest bath. It will take longer to dry inside than if it was out on the yarn hook, but I can’t control the rain.
Drying yarn means an empty wheel and I can’t have that during the tour! Next to spin is some yummy Alpaca/merino from my
drug fiber dealer, Debbie at Black Diamond Alpacas. It’s a lovely purple/pink/gray batt of awesome. It spins so delicate and fine; I’m not even trying all that hard. If anything, I’m trying not to ruin such pretty stuff.
Time to take a little break and maybe get a few chores done. Silly things like cooking and cleaning take a backseat when it comes to the tour!
