I was lazy and totally didn’t post any progress yesterday. Our original plans were to go to a family function, but it was canceled. No worries, It was very hot and I spent the day eating brownies, finishing the second batt of Alpaca and complaining about being pregnant.
I shouldn’t really complain, I have had (so far) a very uneventful pregnancy but with this heat, I am uncomfortable…and cranky…and uncomfortable. Today hasn’t been much better, but I am forcing myself to be somewhat productive. Dev and I were utterly disappointed at the flea market this morning (no thanks to the weather) and Cletus is doing its best Bruce Lee impression into every reachable organ. Did I mention that my AC is on full blast but I still feel like my feet are on fire.
I’m not complaining….I’m not going to complain….I’m sucking it up…I’m a big girl….
This post will not dissolve into whining! Time to share spinning!!!
First, here’s the second bobbin of Alpaca:
Very similar in color to the first batt of Alpaca, but this has a bit more blue. Today, I plied the first batt of Alpaca and the green fiber. My chain-plying is getting better, but it was interesting going from plying Alpaca to plying wool. I hope it doesn’t look like crap.
I kinda had to refresh myself on how to ply after not doing it for a few days but I think plying is like riding a bicycle. After the wash and whack, I put these babies out to dry. I just checked on them while filling up the doggy pool (which shall now be referred to as the Preggo Pool) and they are already mostly dry.
Now to decide on what to spin next….Diane’s Spunky Eclectic or Dev’s Fiber Optics…must think it over….
I shall ponder it over some freshly delivered Rita’s Water Ice. The Husbeast deserves a medal – Not only has he been super interested in the tour, but he has made sure I don’t turn into the hulk several times during this heat wave. He also doesn’t mind the dust bunnies and dirty dishes that have magically popped up…. *tries to look innocent*
