Today is National Dog Day! As you all know, I am a shameless whore when it comes to my dogs; I can’t let the day go unnoticed. I may be a little biased, but I think my dogs are the best dogs in the whole wide world and everybody wishes they could have dogs like mine. I also know their days of endless attention and spoiling are numbered, so why not go out with a bang…right?
I can’t imagine life without my dogs. They bring so much joy and entertainment to our lives. I can’t wait for the baby to grow up with their “fur siblings.” I’m a big believer in having pets. I didn’t have pets for much of my childhood and I think I missed out. Enza was one of the first things I got when I graduated and left home (Literally got Enza before my Diploma showed up in the mail). We haven’t had a boring day since.
When I worked in corporate and came home in a funk, coming home to a wet nose and wagging tail was like therapy. How can anyone have a bad day when you have a dog?! When we brought Quinn home, our little unit was complete. Quinn will never let a day go by without a laugh. He and Enza don’t always get along, but they are perfect for each other. They are the Yin and Yang of dogs and it totally works for us.
In a few weeks, our bald human puppy will arrive and complete our pack. Here’s hoping the transition goes smoothly! Until then, we will shower the dogs in lots of attention and make sure they know they are still our favorite pooches!
How are you celebrating National Dog Day?
